Lots of good stuff completed this weekend. Woke up yesterday and got out by 9:30am. Still sort of cool outside.
Worked on the Flag Garden. Weeded. And weeded. And then weeded some more. I removed the White ASiatic and Easy Vanilla lilies – transplanted most of them to the Well Garden in the backyard. Removed some of the Black Gamecock Louisiana Iris and put in the Swale garden. And moved an Indian Chief Iris to another part of the garden. Where it was it lost all of its leaves and wasn’t looking too well, but the roots looked good. Preventative measures.
The lilies got moved to the Well Garden surrounding the Shirley Temple Peony. I didn’t plant them all, but a nice selection of the bigger bulbs.
When I moved the Louisiana iris to the Swale Garden I noticed a daylily that I don’t remember planting. It’s very pretty – double petals, orange. I planted the Louisiana iris in the swale. Will do well in the wet soil.
Then I started working on the Deck Garden. Weeded. And weeded. And then got so hot I stopped sweating – time to go in! But I did get most of the weeding done.
This morning I went back to the Deck Garden and deadheaded the shrub roses and the tree and hybrid lilies.
