This year I kept my records for how well the seeds did so that I know what to grow next year, what is ify, and what I should just throw out because it’s probably too old. Some of the seeds I harvested from the year before. Some didn’t do as well after they were potted. Hopefully I’ll remember to look at this in a couple of months!
Great Germination
- Torenia Kauai – harvested and Park Seed
- At some point some of these plants self-seeded at the front porch and is growing in a crack in the bricks.
- Laurentia Avant Garde Blue – harvested
- harvested more this year. Potted and planted in the Oz Garden with great results in both.
- Salvia, Fairy Queen – Park Seed
- Poppy Falling in Love – Park Seed (7 out of 7)
- All germinated, but I potted and put them out in too much sun. The leaves did well for a while and it would have a bud, but they never bloomed.
- Dianthus, Siberian Blue – Park Seed (7 out of 7)
- Did very well. Collected a lot of seeds from them this year. Great filler.
- Linaria – Park Seed (5 out of 7; 5 out of 7)
- Two different kinds of Linaria and they both did great.
- Blue Angel Viscaria – Swallowtail Gardens ( 7 out of 7)
- Chinese House – Swallowtail Gardens (7 out of 7)
- Didn’t do too well after potted. I couldn’t determine if I gave them too much sun or not enough, too much water or not enough. Urg. I think these will go into the don’t need to try this again.
- Pink Shimmer Cuphea – Swallowtail Gardens ( 6 out of 7)
- Love this little plant. It really does “shimmer”.
- Morning Glory – Outside Pride (7 out of 7)
- These did very well, but I really don’t like vines. LOL! But I really like this flower, just don’t want it to take over. I may go ahead and try it again next year, pot it, and set it next to the new fence.
- Coneflower Pow Wow Wild Berry – Park Seed (5 out of 7)
- Geranium Pinto – Park Seed (7 out of 7)
- WOW!!!! Loved these. Turned out beautiful.
- Lisainthus – Park Seed (7 out of 7)
- These germinated very well. But… they did not do well. I think they got too much sun this year.
- Japanese Toad Lily – Park Seed (7 out of 7)
- Did well in a pot that I kept shaded. Didn’t do well planting in the garden.

- Did very well when planted. I collected seeds for next year.
- Nemesia Masquerade – Park Seed (4 out of 7)
- Kiwi Blue Honeywort – Swallowtail Gardens (4 out of 7)
- Did not do well at all after potted.
- Agastache Arizona Sunset – Park Seed (4 out of 7)
- Did great. Loved it.
- Debonair Dusty Rose Petunia – Burpee (1 out of 3)
- Nicotiana Perfume Blue – Swallowtail Gardens
- This did better than I thought. I had noted that none germinated. But, I planted a couple (a pot and dad’s house) and they were beautiful. Ended up with purple and red. I also purchased a white version. I was able to collect seeds from the red and white.
